Sierra Nevada Field Campus Weekend - Register by May 24

Weekend for Center for Global Engagement Students:
July 19, 2024 - July 21, 2024

Commune with nature and appreciate the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada region for a weekend at the Sierra Nevada Field Campus (SNFC). Experience the diversity of the wild, and learn about the natural and cultural history of the region.

Camp in Comfort

New to camping? SNFC has a dining hall with a chef for all your meals, and bathrooms with hot showers.

SNFC Outdoor Experience Weekend

Students in the American Language Institute, San Francisco Discover and Summer in San Francisco programs can also enroll in the optional SNFC Outdoor Experience Weekend. Learn about nature, astronomy, and the history of the mountain range while honing outdoor skills. The program will be based out of the Sierra Nevada Field Campus with excursions throughout the region.

New Program: STEM Exploration – Apply by November 15 for Winter 2025

New International Program Blends STEM and English Skills

In our new STEM Exploration Program, students will gain English language skills while exploring applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Student activities include site visits to experience and learn about topics including computer science, engineering, mathematics, life sciences and environmental sustainability. The program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students and professionals. There are two- to four-week programs available. No student visa (F-1) required. ESTA or B-2 Visa.

Advance Your Knowledge

  • Learn and discuss current topics in applied science and technology
  • Create and deliver short academic presentations
  • Practice listening and speaking English in and out of the classroom
