How to Apply for the FNP Program

Admission Requirements

  • One year or 2000 hours of RN work experience
  • Graduation from an accredited master's or doctoral program with a master's or doctoral degree in nursing
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (B) in the last 60 units
  • Current California RN licensure or eligibility for California RN licensure
  • One year of recent clinical experience is recommended
  • Three letters of reference (from individuals such as: work supervisors, professional colleagues, and former faculty members)
  • One page, typed statement of purpose written by the applicant that outlines the applicant's goals and objectives for the pursuit of nurse practitioner study
  • Current résumé or curriculum vitae
  • Complete set of official transcripts from previous colleges and universities
  • Students are required to complete yearly health requirements and to purchase professional liability insurance
