This spring you can take Project Resource Management Online beginning March 8. This course is part of our Project Management certificate program, where you can complete a certificate, or choose an individual class that interests you. The program provides students the Project Management Institute’s Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) framework needed to manage any project.

Course Description

PM 9711: Project Resource Management Online
Effective project managers must possess strong skills in organizational planning, leadership, team building, communication, performance coaching and feedback management.

In this course students will:

  • Learn how to use human resources to achieve project goals.
  • Understand the process of human resources planning, facilitating team building among acquired project teams, and skills for developing project teams and managing them.
  • Develop the skills needed to establish clear project roles and responsibilities, institute rules of engagement, and exercise influence within the existing power structure using appropriate leadership styles and coaching.

Course objectives:

  • Understand and apply the key elements of project resource management.
  • Value the importance of Interpersonal skills, leadership skills, Emotional Intelligence and conflict resolution approaches to manage team resources (individuals with assigned project roles and responsibilities).
  • Know the main theories related to project resource management.
