Polin Yadak (she/her/hers)
M.S., Ed.D.
Faculty Lecturer
Polin Yadak earned her M.S. in Physics from SF State and her Ed.D. from University of San Francisco. Since 2007, she has been teaching at several colleges in the Bay Area, including SF State and Skyline College. From the outset, Professor Yadak has been committed to sharing her knowledge with her students and bringing equity to her classroom. To that end, she has coded about 400 physics and astronomy questions from open resources books in MyOpenMath so that students have free access to both a homework system as well as a textbook. In addition, she is the primary investigator on a research project studying the gender gap in one of the popular and standard physics tests called Force Concept Inventory (FCI). The data for her Ed.D. dissertation was collected from both domestic and international high schools and universities.
Professor Yadak has been an instructor with the Post-Bac Program since 2010. She has designed Physics bootcamps and taught different Physics lecture and laboratory courses. Professor Yadak loves teaching post-bac students, in particular, because they are highly motivated and often challenge her knowledge boundaries. She firmly believes that learning in the classroom should occur for both instructor and student.
As a lifelong learner, Professor Yadak has taken several programming classes at Skyline College, City College of San Francisco and on Coursera. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, working on her car and sculpting.
