Study Abroad Students Learn Cinema on the Streets of Bari, Italy

After a two-year pandemic pause and much planning, Professor Weimin Zhang has launched the Faculty-Led Study Abroad cinema course in Bari, Italy.

Sixteen undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Cinema participated, with eight local linguistics students from the University of Bari joining the program for language and cultural support.

Professor Zhang, who has been running this program for over a decade, collaborated with native Italian Pietro Pinto and MFA alumni to lead SF State students to Italy to embrace this unique and life-changing experience.
