The English to University Studies Pathway program will help you level up your academic English skills for admission to the Semester at SJSU program. You can fulfill the English requirements through the SFSU English for Academic Preparation program, then take classes at SJSU.

- Students apply to the EAP program.
- Students receive a conditional admission letter from the SAS program and an admission letter and I-20 from the EAP program. Students use their EAP I-20 to apply for F-1 visa.
- Students enter the U.S. with their EAP I-20 and F-1 visa and studying full-time in the EAP program.
- After meeting the SAS English requirement with the EAP, an online interview may be required with a SAS staff member.
- Students will then have their I-20 transferred from the EAP to SAS.
- Students then study full-time in the SAS program.
- EAP Level 80 completion with: B+ 87% average final grades across the three English courses:
TOEFL Waiver
OR
530 ITP score and B 83% average final grades across the three English courses - Level 80 students with grades and/or ITP scores just below the requirements listed above may advance to the SAS program with written recommendations from at least two EAP instructors. Students will also be required to have an online interview with SAS staff.
- Level 80 students who do not meet the requirements listed above but advance to Level 90 can try again to meet the requirement to advance SAS..
